DORSET teams opened their 2017/18 campaign in the Inter-County Cup with a home fixture at the Dorset Bowls Resort against Devon.
The Dorset team wearing their new revolutionary county shirts for the first time, adding a splash of colour to the mat.
The teams are sponsored by A1 Autocentre of Bournemouth and the shirts were designed by Harlequin Teamwear.
Both the Premier team and A Teams were in action, playing the four bowling disciplines singles, pairs, triples and fours, in four sessions during the day, each team consisting of 20 bowlers.
Dorset Premier team came out 24-18 winners against their counterparts from Devon winning the pairs and triples three mats to one, sharing the singles at two mats apiece but losing the fours 3-1.
The overall shot scores were Dorset 197 Devon 189.
Singles player Sam Harvey, the pair of Steve Stanton and Ben Riley and the trio of Hazel Thomas, Dave Redfern and Michael Hall all winning both their games.
Dorset A lost narrowly 22-18 to Devon (200 shots to 171).
Highlights were the pair of Gill Honeybun and Karen Ellis and the four of Bobbie Whitburn, Sandra and Fred Hopkins and Dave Glennerster who were undefeated on the day.
