IT is derby day at Monmouth Avenue tomorrow as high-flying Weymouth & Portland go toe-to-toe with Bridport in Dorset & Wilts Two South (2.15pm).

The home side are just two points off leaders Yeovil in the division this term with nine wins coming from 10 games so far.

But with local rivalry at stake, head coach Paul Harding is expecting a difficult encounter against the Blues, who trounced Puddletown 44-13 last time out.

He told Echosport: “It’s a local derby and we always look forward to them “We have had some impressive games with Bridport in the past and I think they will be a decent side.

“Their results have been strong of late and they had another good win last Saturday.

“I am expecting a tough game but, from our point of view, it looks like we have got quite a strong squad to choose from.

“Hopefully Joel Wilson will come back in for possible selection as will George Carter and, at the moment, selection is quite a headache really.

“We have all these players who are 17 and 18-years-old that are making an impact, which makes for an interesting selection.”

* In Southern Counties South, second-bottom Dorchester go in search of their third win of the season when they visit the Dorset Dockers (2.15pm).

Swanage & Wareham face a tricky trip to sixth-placed Oxford Harlequins in South West One East, as they bid to record back-to-back league wins (2.15pm).
