BOURNEMOUTH 29

DORCHESTER 7

DORCHESTER were consigned to their third defeat in a row despite a resilient display from the county town side.

Crippled by injuries, unavailable players and late cry offs, Dorchester were dealt another blow when scrum-half Jake Bosher was ruled unfit by the medical team at the last minute.

It was no surprise that Dorchester looked a little disorganised in the opening exchanges and that Bournemouth opened the scoring.

The hosts’ outside-centre danced his way through a couple of tackles for the first try.

The second score wasn’t long coming and it was another unconverted try for the hosts.

Dorchester began to grow in confidence but, unfortunately, without any final product.

Bournemouth then added a third try as they rumbled over from a line-out.

However, it was Dorchester who scored next, Morgan bursting through the home midfield and rounding the full-back to touch down under the posts. Dave Clark added the extras.

The visitors, however, were unable to build on this score and Bournemouth crossed for a fourth try before the break.

The second half was a real battle of attrition, Dorchester dominated for long periods but, as in previous games, a lack of precision prevented them adding to their score.

In a rare visit to the Dorchester 22-metre line, Bournemouth drove over for a fifth try to consign the visitors to a third straight league defeat.
