DORCHESTER Rugby Club are set to begin preparations for the upcoming season.

Pre-season training for the men’s teams and Colts gets underway on Tuesday and will take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening thereafter (7-9pm).

Ladies’ training also starts up next week and will run every Wednesday (7.30-9pm).

The men’s first XV were pipped at the post for promotion last campaign, so their coaches are keen to make sure everyone is in good shape to go one better this time around.

The A team showed the way, earning promotion to Dorset & Wilts Two South. Their first task this season is to establish a secure position in the league, and then progress from there.

The ladies meanwhile, are hoping for improved results from last term.

The Gladiators will be run as a purely social team this coming season, playing friendly matches against local sides.

The county town outfit’s facilities have had a spruce-up in the close season, with the visitors’ changing rooms painted a restful pink and the pitches having had some much needed TLC.

New members are always welcome, whatever their experience and ability. Either contact the club by emailing enquiries@dorchester-rfc.co.uk or turn up for training and talk to one of the coaches.
