WEYMOUTH welcome back a host of key names as they return to action with tomorrow’s visit of Oakmeadians (3pm).

Sam Morris, Harry Charles, Will Quick and Max Vallance are all set to feature at Monmouth Avenue, much to Paul Harding’s delight.

The head coach, whose side were without a fixture last weekend, said: “Harry has been out with a broken hand but he came back and played for the thirds last weekend and was absolutely superb.

“Sam is a big plus for us, Max will be back in the front row and Will is another valuable player. However, this year Will needs to go looking for the opportunities a bit more than last season and make things happen.”

Weymouth have yet to taste victory since earning promotion to Southern Counties South and tomorrow face an Oaks outfit that have experienced mixed results thus far.

Harding added: “It’s going to be a tough old game again. They have won one and lost one so they are doing okay.

“They are a bit of an unknown quantity though as we have never played their first team while I have been involved with the club.

“But I expect they will be a typical Southern Counties outfit in that they are well drilled and pretty powerful.

“We have worked hard over the last couple of weeks on areas I felt we needed to improve. We will see how we fare tomorrow.

“I’m really looking forward to the games this season as we have something to measure ourselves against, which wasn’t the case last season.”

Also in Southern Counties South, second-placed Dorchester make the journey to Corsham (3pm) as they bid for a third consecutive victory.

The county town side have enjoyed an unblemished start to the new campaign but so too have their Wiltshire opponents.

Early pacesetters Bridport face arguably their toughest test thus far when they visit Blandford in Dorset & Wilts One South action (3pm).

Two convincing victories, in which they have only conceded three points, have lifted the Blues to top spot at this early stage of the season.

But tomorrow’s opponents have also recorded wins from their opening two games and captain Ricky Stubbs is therefore anticipating a stern examination.

He said: “We’ve got a big test this weekend against Blandford as they have just come down from Southern Counties South.

“We just need to keep doing what we have been doing and try to whip the ball out to the backs.”

In Dorset & Wilts Two South, Puddletown will be looking to open their account when they travel to Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds (3pm).

The Hampshire outfit were relegated after contesting just one season in the higher tier.

Nevertheless, with so much experience in their side, they are sure to prove tough opposition for the Villagers, especially after a confidence boosting victory at Poole on the opening day of the season.

Puddletown scrum-half Max Welch has now fully recovered from the head injury sustained in the pre-season game at Lytchett Minster and is likely to feature in the starting line-up.

Swanage & Wareham, still without a win in South West One East, welcome Salisbury to Bestwall tomorrow (3pm).
