WEYMOUTH Wildcats’ co-promoter Martin Peters is looking forward to a refreshing change from last year as his side prepare for their first Southern Development League meeting of the year tonight.

They face the Isle of Wight Wizards at the Arlington Stadium in Eastbourne, with Luke Barnes, James Jessop, Bailey Fellows and Jacob Fellows set to ride.

Peters said: We are looking forward to it. Obviously it is our first SDL meeting of the year we are a bit revitalised, the riders are keen and they want to do well.

“It is such a refreshing change from last year, it is good.

When asked how the Wildcats’ riders are feeling, Peters told Echosport: “They are really confident, they are really looking forward to it. They want to win. The important thing is to keep improving yourself as a rider each time.

“Winning is an added bonus really for the league we are in.

“As long as they ride well and they have no problems then that is what it is all about really.”

On Sunday, Bailey Fellows rode in an amateur meeting in Scunthorpe and won five of the six heats that he rode in, with the one race he did not win due to an engine failure.

Captain Jordan Bull will not be present, with Peters explaining that the Wildcats are keen to rotate their side to ensure their side make an equal number of appearances.
