GEORGE Rolls will face an independent regulatory commission on July 4 after being charged by the Football Association with alleged breaches of its rules governing misconduct and betting.

The ex-Weymouth chairman, who was involved in the day-to-day running of the Terras between November 2009 and February 2012, is currently the acting chairman at Kettering Town, which is proposing to enter a Company Voluntary Arrangement with a meeting of creditors scheduled for today.

Rolls, who has denied the FA charges, was also at the helm of the Terras when they entered a CVA back in March 2010.

The Cambridge-based businessman has been charged with the following offences:

* Three breaches of FA Rule E3 – Misconduct relating to his conduct during the investigation of the alleged breaches of the Betting rules.

* 974 breaches of FA Rule E8(a) – Betting – during the 2007/8 season.

* 1,707 breaches of FA Rule E8(a) – Betting – during the 2008/9 season.

* 392 breaches of FA Rule E8(a) – Betting – during the 2009/10 season

UPDATE: Weymouth chairman Nigel Biddlecombe has issued the following statement this morning on the club's official website: "I have taken the opportunity to speak with the Football Association this morning and have confirmed that the alleged charges presently being laid against Mr Rolls are personal to him and do not reflect on Weymouth FC.

"If proven any punishment will be meted out to Mr Rolls and will not affect our club.

"I hope this will dispel some of the fears that are being expressed on the subject."
