TERRAS’ player-manager Jason Matthews is bracing his side for a battle as they bid for their first league win on the road tomorrow, when they lock horns with Cambridge City (3pm).
With his own side’s confidence sky high following their derby victory over Dorchester Town, the Wey-mouth chief expects the Lilywhites to be in the top five at the end of the campaign and is preparing his team for a sturdy test.
Matthews should welcome Jacob Wannell back having recovered from the illness which kept him out for the games against Hitchin and the Magpies.
Defender Ed Palmer is rated touch-and-go as he recovers from the ankle injury he picked up on derby day, and Tim Sills should be fit to play even though he continues to patch up the cut to his head suffered last weekend.
Matthews told Echosport: “We are in a good position just behind the top five with a game in hand but we are going to test ourselves against one of the proven sides in this league in Cambridge City, and this is a place where you need to go and battle.
“We will be prepared for that and we have done our homework on them, we just need to put it all together and get ready.”
Commenting further on City, who won 6-0 last time out against Histon, Matthews added: “They are a very good side and I would be very surprised if they weren’t a top-five side.
“They have a very experienced manager in Gary Roberts, he has done a superb job there and has been there for a long time. You are always going to get a tough game against them.”
