THE WESSEX Fantasy Football game continues to grow thanks to passionate Terras’ fan Ian White, with £15,000 already secured for the club’s playing budget this season.

White re-launched the game earlier this summer and the funds raised helped tie down midfielder Chris McPhee to a one-year deal this term.

But with a £25,000 target set, White is keen to boost the Terras’ playing budget further in their push for promotion.

“Getting Chris McPhee helped us boost the fund quite considerably,” said White.

“What I would like to do now the club are in the top five is try to push to maybe get another player from the game.

“It runs monthly and each month is an individual game. You can join it at the beginning of each month, like the November game which has just kicked off.

“There is a guaranteed £125 first prize plus a second prize depending on numbers taking part.

“Every £8 of the £10 that people put in each month goes to the players’ fund and a lot of people just donate instead of playing, which you can do.”

Commenting on the success of the game so far, Weymouth chairman Chris Pugsley added: “Ian’s efforts are remarkable and this enabled us to sign Chris McPhee.

“Jason is looking to strengthen the squad now and Ian is hoping to expand the Fantasy Football which will put more money into Jason’s playing fund.

“We would like to encourage everybody to back Ian and his efforts to help the club move forward.

“The fans of this football club are amazing, anyone that travelled to Braintree in the cup could see that.

“Without the effort that goes in with all the volunteers and the Fantasy Football our squad would be particularly weaker and we wouldn’t be in the position we are in.”
