WEYMOUTH will be holding an after-match party following their Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division clash with Dunstable Town today to celebrate the 40th birthday of player-manager Jason Matthews.

The Terras’ boss is also the match sponsor, man-of-the-match sponsor, and match ball sponsor for the clash with the Blues.

And although the result is the most important part of the day for Matthews, he is hopeful of looking forward to celebrating in the bar afterwards.

He told Echosport: “For me it is all about getting the result. We need to make it the right occasion on the pitch for people to stay.

“Birthday’s come once a year and it is obviously my 40th birthday, and I felt that I just wanted to give the club something back as a thank you in sponsoring the game."

After the match, all fans are welcome to join the Terras’ boss, along with his family and friends for a birthday drink in the bar with live music provided by the Average Wyke Band.

Matthews added: “It would be nice to see the fans come up into the bar and have a drink after.

“I have a few good friends coming down and I will be in for some stick either way.”

Claret & Blue Lottery result: 1 Nick Palmer (Cardiff), 2 Pauline Walbrin (Dorchester), 3 Linda Nash (Weymouth).
