TONIGHT’S Red Insure Cup tie against Paulton Rovers cannot come quick enough for Weymouth player-manager Jason Matthews, who has called for his squad to “knuckle down and start getting some results”.

Weymouth, who disappointed in a 2-0 home defeat against Hitchin Town on Saturday, face Rovers, who they drew with in the league last week, in the third round of the competition at the Bob Lucas Stadium this evening (7.45pm).

And having rotated his squad against the likes of Wimborne and Poole in the competition so far, the Weymouth chief is expected to name a strong line-up this time round.

He told Echosport: “Everyone will be included in some part. It’s time to knuckle down and start getting some results.

“We have to go out there, be positive and get Saturday out of our systems.

“I had a dejected changing room on Saturday, it wasn’t a great performance, the boys know that and you could see the hurt on their faces.”

Matthews is still weighing up the options over whether to play himself in goal as he continues to regain match sharpness following a heel injury, or hand the gloves to Steve Boore.

Defender Aston Butcher is set to be included in the squad but AFC Bournemouth loanee Sam Surridge is unavailable.
