MORE THAN 60 members of Dorset Pentathletes took part in events in Portugal, Italy, Germany and Weymouth as part of the Biathle World Tour.

Dorset Pentathletes had great success, with the team winning seven individual gold, four silver and four bronze medals.

“This is an excellent achievement by all the athletes, parents and helpers over the season, and it has given many of the athletes a great opportunity to compete abroad for club and country,” said coach Michael Flaherty.

“These results make Dorset Pentathletes the top club biathle team in the world.

“The athletes from Dorset did the country and county proud, performing and racing with great determination and professionalism, and encouraging the other athletes taking part."

“All the hard work over the year put in by the athletes, parents driving them to training and competitions, and coaches from their various swimming and running clubs has paid off.

“Once again the team has had an outstanding season and are looking forward to next year’s events and World Championships.”
