WEYMOUTH Swimming Club completed the third round of the Southern Junior league in a comfortable second place, beating opponents from Swim Bournemouth, Southwold and Bristol Central.

The round was won by the hosts, West Dorset Warriors, at the Dorchester Sports Centre.

The enthusiastic Weymouth squad put up an inspiring show of talent, capturing 13 first place positions, 13 seconds and seven thirds.

Weymouth took first place in the prestigious and exciting final ‘canon’, an eight-length relay of alternating boy and girl in ascending order.

As well as the impressive position rankings, 13 swimmers from the Weymouth squad achieved personal bests during the event.

Second: Aidan Watson (12/U 50m butterfly), Jacob Watson (11/U 50m butterfly), Daniel Kingman (12/U 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke), Lewis Timms (10/U 50m butterfly), Lily Amor (11/U 50m freestyle), Alasara James (12/U 50m breaststroke), Archie Harris (10/U 50m freestyle), Megan Wilkinson (11/U 50m breaststroke).
