RADIPOLE Primary School is enjoying a phenomenal season and have won their second trophy in two months.
In November, the Weymouth school beat St Osmond’s in a seven-a-side tournament and they followed this up by claiming the South Dorset Area five-a-side finals, which was held at Weymouth College.
The tournament saw teams from Beechcroft, Conifers, Dorchester Middle, St Augustine’s, St John’s, St Osmond’s and Wyke take part.
After some great group matches featuring superb skills and teamwork from all teams, the final was a rematch of last year’s close contest between Radipole and Wyke but with the result going Radipole’s way this time.
Wyke opened the scoring but this just made Radipole more determined and they soon equalised and then went ahead before easing to a 5-1 victory.
A school spokesperson said: “Thanks to Mr Mason for organising the competition and Ben Heath for the use of Weymouth College and all the staff who give up their time.”
