Having attended the recent planning meeting about the Peninsular development I was pleasantly surprised that some sanity seemed to prevail.
Councillor Ian Bruce proposed that there be a minimum requirement for 600 car parking
spaces be included in the planning to protect support for the Pavilion Theatre.
Also Councillor Christine James should be congratulated in trying to introduce some sanity into the deliberations. Well done you two.
As for Jeff Cant’s comment on the inevitable approval” that the public would be consulted on the next stages of the planning” why bother as he has ignored any previous public consultations about the “Fairy” lights etc.
Any decisions taken at this meeting could of course be purely academic in any case once the Unitary Authority takes charge.
