ON BEHALF of all those starving children in the Yemen I would like to thank the generosity of the people of Dorchester who raised £402.53 in our four-hour street collection last weekend, in South Street. Senior citizens and children weighed down our buckets with coins, £10 and £5 notes and a homeless man came up and gave us about a £1s worth of loose change. People said that they usually concentrate on ‘home-based’ charities, but that they couldn’t walk by and not make a contribution towards feeding children in the Yemen dying of hunger. All of the £402.53 will be paid in to the Unicef Children’s Yemen Emergency Appeal. Once again thank you for all your generous contributions.
