WE THANK everyone who stopped at our Amnesty “Tree of Hope” on Dorchester’s South Street on December 8 to sign a card to a prisoner of conscience or threatened human rights defender. Two hundred and 33 cards cards were signed and the messages of hope and support have been sent to South Africa, Iran, Morocco, and Venezuela.
We received donations totalling £118-01, and all money not spent on cards and postage will enable us to continue campaigning for people worldwide who are being imprisoned, tortured, or threatened for peacefully held beliefs.
We know from previous years that the generosity of Dorchester residents and visitors can make a real difference. Once again, many thanks.
