Last week we reported how Weymouth's public space dog orders are expected to be extended for another year. Here's what our readers had to say...

  • Fit all dogs with a muzzle when not on a lead. Lead should be no longer that 6 feet. Half & Half
  • Sort out the town's social problems before spending time on dogs, deck chairs and fancy lights on the prom. Toobored
  • I can never understand why the England and Wales Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 was repealed. If the dog-related PSPO were to lapse and the Act was still in force at least you could prosecute an offender. Shy-talk

MORE OF TODAY'S TOP STORIES

  • 'Current bathing season 15th May to 30th September'. That's news to me and - like many- I swim in the sea before and after those dates; moreover, I'm not one of the fitness fanatics, just an ageing, ponderous mainly breast-stroke guy. The present exclusion dates are reasonable and warrant proper enforcement especially in the last fortnight because an increasing no. of dog walkers decide on their own choice of end date. The summer season more and more lingers on into mid-Autumn. Would a compromise, say Oct 15th, be acceptable ? Crumbledean
