I WOULD like to say thanks to the guys in their 4x4s who enabled people like me to be able to get home on Thursday, January 31.
I work away not far from Manchester during the week and was travelling back home to Weymouth and managed to get to the hills at Evershot only to find a Sainsbury's lorry blocking the road on the hill leading up to Clay Pigeon.
My car is rear-wheel-drive and could not get the traction needed to get past the lorry and so I was resigned to waiting at the foot of the hill until the lorry could be moved.
However, some guys in 4x4s appeared and offered to tow me to the top of the hill before going back down to help others.
As a result of this, I was able to safely get home and whilst I did thank them at the time I felt compelled to email and ask that you mention them in the Echo.
