THE person who complained to Portland Tesco on January 21, concerning my dog barking should have complained to me directly as the dog’s owner.
My dog and I were on Tesco property but the responsibility for my dog’s behaviour lay with me.
The Tesco assistant manager told me of the complaint.
He was kind, sympathetic and understood I was upset.
For my dog’s safety and security, I shall now leave my dog at home.
Do not consider your complaint has had a satisfactory outcome as my dog will be missed for his friendliness and cheerfulness.
I shall not forget the time I saw a young foreign student sitting on the ground with his arms around my dog because the student was homesick and missing his own dog.
I made the decision to leave my dog at home, the assistant manager did not even suggest that I should.
I have great respect for the way he handled the complaint.
