Well done Phil Say and his Pavilion team for showing the local council how to make Weymouth look more inviting with a brilliant lighting display at the theatre. I am sure he and his team could come up with a good seafront lighting system for less cost than the new one, which looks only average.
A few years ago, the council were talking about knocking the theatre down, stating they couldn’t afford the cost of keeping it going. Then Phil Say took on this ‘lost cause’ and look what’s happened. A more updated looking venue and a lot better list of shows and events. The staff also make you feel very welcome on arrival. We should all be proud of this.
Could Weymouth and Portland councillors arrange a meeting with Phil and his team to learn how to organise themselves and start making sensible decisions on important issues.
Phil’s team are an example of how to cooperate and get things done without alienating the public, as this council seems determined to do.
