I thought that the reduction in councils was intended to save money.
Save money for whom? Bournemouth council tax (Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council), has risen by 3.5% making the tax for a D Band property £1,779.
Weymouth council tax (Dorset Council), has risen by 6.8% - virtually double that of Bournemouth - making the tax for a D Band property £2121! £342 more than Bournemouth.
Furthermore, Weymouth and Portland are reputed to have the lowest average weekly wage in the country. All the more reason to question this discrepancy in council tax between these two Dorset councils.
