It has been six years since the campaign to get a reduction in the speed limit in Bryants Lane (Wyke Regis) to 20mph, all to no avail, even though our councillor was chairman of the transport committee?
The initial results of our efforts ended up with a letter from the Dorset Highway Authority, stating that any change in the status of Bryants Lane, could only be achieved ‘after a fatality had occurred!’
Well what about a near fatality? Does that count?
Perhaps our local councillor would like to take up the cudgel on our behalf once again before we reach an ‘After event scenario’ with questions being asked about who did what to stop Bryants Lane becoming (what us locals call it!) the ‘outer lane of the M1 motorway!’
