I HAVE just enjoyed a month staying in Charminster but am shocked at the way this village is a rat-run for cars going from the Sherborne Road to the A37.
The speed they drive is very worrying and also in the village of Piddlehinton, where huge trucks and cars use that village to avoid Dorchester.
Cars certainly don’t keep to the speed limit and why don’t these charming villages have a 20mph limit as does Tollard Royal?
In France the local mayors make sure the villagers needs are paramount, whereas in the UK the cars are king.
I think you should have chicanes like they do and even Merriott in Somerset has this.
Doesn’t Dorset Council care?
