In response to Douglas Beazer (‘Sort out the buses’, Echo March 7) providing they meet certain criteria anybody can run a bus service anywhere.
The demise of route 6 in the Beaminster is not solely the responsibility of First. Responsibility for this lies with Dorset Council, Somerset Council and Yeovil College for not coming together and pooling resources.
It is also worth noting that Damory is not a local company. It is part of Go Ahead group which is a multi national transport company that has a head office in London. The main local company that provides buses in this area is South West Coaches.
So if the parties cannot get together of their own resort perhaps the MP can help.
