Was I the only reader to find the Mayor of Dorchester’s response to the letter from J Hancock (March 24) less than compelling?
We live in times that require decisive action by those given responsibility, in this case the Dorchester Town Council.
I doubt that anybody could work out from the Council’s Facebook page how and where all people could get help. Not everyone is in the Age UK’s group of vulnerable residents.
I can recall quite clearly the run up to the Second World War and the actions taken by local authorities regarding safely against expected enemy attack on civilians. Let’s see our councillors working so that we can all understand where help can be found and what part we, ourselves, can play.
