YOUR PHOTOS of Weymouth Bay full of cruise ships idled by the pandemic reminds me of my grandmother’s tale about her two-day honeymoon in Weymouth in 1939. They were worried that war was on the way but tried to put the thought from their minds. This wasn’t always easy: as the newlyweds sat eating candyfloss on the front, out at sea, the bay was full of warship after warship as far as could be seen.
