IN SUPPORT of reinstating the cross Channel ferry service (Echo 29/6/20), Robert Theobald states that it can be almost one hour faster to navigate out of Weymouth harbour than Poole.
So navigating back in would also save time?
How frustrating then for disembarking drivers to then have to crawl along 800 metres of Esplanade, at a snail’s pace, up to the King Street junction using up all that saved time?
If the ferry returns this bottleneck junction needs sorting.
Local drivers know a way around it, but not those using “Toutes Directions”.
