FIRST Dorset is now accepting Express Mode for Apple Pay on its buses to offer passengers another contactless method to avoid using cash. Express Mode means there is no need to unlock the device with face ID or touch ID or open an app.

The launch of this technology has been accelerated through the impact of the Coronavirus, with the bus operator advising customers to only pay with cash on buses as a last resort

Carol Sim, First Wessex’ Operations Manager, said: “During these unprecedented times, we wanted to offer our customers another cashless way to pay for their bus travel and to make life as easy as possible.

“The new system will make life easier for customers choosing to travel with us during these difficult times.”
