THE KEY route onto Portland is partially blocked with slow-moving traffic after a trailer lost its wheel.
The Portland Beach Road is experiencing delays and slow traffic this evening (Tuesday, May 18) with police officers at the scene directing traffic.
Photos on social media and shared by the police show queues of traffic in both directions after a trailer lost its wheel.
Travel websites report traffic in the area is slow-moving with heavy congestion reported on Portland. Traffic in the Wyke Regis area also appears to be busy.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police has called for patience from motorists as officers direct traffic.
He said: "A trailer has lost its wheel on Portland Beach Road which currently causing slow traffic coming off and onto the island.
"We are managing traffic flow whilst it is recovered."
