'There must be a solution to Dorset town's roundabouts problem'
WE HAVE recently read a lot in the local press about the roundabouts in Bridport and what to do about them.
Why does Bridport not do as they have done in South Somerset and ask either a single business or a Chamber of Trade together to sponsor these roundabouts and make them and the environment attractive to local residents, visitors and travellers on the roads.
I fully understand there is a safety aspect about looking after them but surely if in the terms of sponsorship, the actual access for maintenance can be undertaken by either Highways England or the local authority on behalf of the sponsor(s) thereby meeting any Health and Safety requirements.
