ROBBIE Herrera felt his Dorchester Town side strayed from their passing game as Poole Town claimed a 1-0 victory in their Pitching In Southern League Premier South clash.

Dorchester again expressed their quality on the ball in the first half but failed to make clear-cut chances despite having six corners, Christos Papakonstantinou coming closest.

They were punished when former Dorchester midfielder Sean Wright, on as a sub, headed home from a free-kick.

Dorchester then retreated to a more direct style as they chased the game – going against the philosophy displayed in their previous four games.

And for Herrera, the latter point was particularly frustrating.

He told Echosport: “First half we were on top, we moved the ball really well.

“We didn’t really have that many clear-cut chances but they kept on moving the ball.

“Then we got caught with a free-kick, we didn’t win the first header, it was headed across goal and the lad’s got away from his marker and headed it in on the strike of half-time.

“It was a strange one. Loads of possession, loads of good passing and quite a few half-chances.

“But second half we came out and went away from what we were doing. It was a funny second half, we weren’t particularly good.

“We huffed and puffed but we’d gone away from all our passing.”
