DORCHESTER Town boss Robbie Herrera has revealed the mood in the Magpies’ camp remains positive ahead of hosting Walton Casuals tomorrow (3pm).

Herrera’s men have not taken the points reward of several impressive displays this season, falling to four losses in five league games and an FA Cup exit to Yate Town.

Following the cup departure, Dorchester trained on Tuesday and Herrera remains pleased with the atmosphere within the group.

He told Echosport: “We’re putting a positive spin on things.

“It was a good session, enjoyable, and we put a bit of work into it as well. To be fair, we went through some of the data.

“The lads are wearing GPS vests so we’ve collated quite a bit of data. We went through a few things and then went through the goals we’ve conceded.

“Not to embarrass anybody but to show why we’re not picking up points with individual errors that, if we eradicate, will give us a better chance of getting points on the board.”

Dorchester now turn their attentions to the home clash with Casuals and Herrera is mindful of the Stags’ good start, yielding eight points for ninth place.

“They’ve not started too badly,” he said. “I’ve said to the players there’s nothing to fear in the league, we’ll be competitive.

“We just need that slice of luck we’ve been missing. They are trying to carry out instruction and they’ve done that to the main part. Now they’ve got to start reaping the rewards.

“If we’re on it, we’ll be more than a match for them.”

Ash Wells and Charlie Madden (both hamstring) will be assessed but loanees Gerard Benfield and Callum Buckley return.

Dorchester have also missed out on a striker due to a calf injury but are close to finalising a deal for another forward target.
