A 'CELEBRATION of life' for a 17-year-old who was killed in a motocross crash will take place this month - as it's revealed more than £40,000 has already been raised in his memory for lifesavers.

Jude Morris, from Corfe Castle, was racing in the British Motocross Championship at Duns in Scotland on August 28 when he was injured going over a jump and sadly died.

His family are inviting people to celebrate Jude's life at a ceremony at Harbour View Crematorium, Funeral Home and Woodland Burial Ground in Poole on September 21.

Guests are asked to arrive by 12.50pm for a 1pm start, and at 1.01pm there will be a minute celebration for Jude in a tribute to his riding number, 101.

Jude's family want the occasion to be 'a positive celebration' of the young athlete's life and black clothes are not required.

Mark Morris, Jude's father, said: "I hope as many of you as possible can join us to celebrate Jude’s life. I know Jude would want to see as many faces as possible from his family, college, school and of course the MX community.

"We want this to be a positive celebration of a happy, fun loving 17-year-old. Formal black dress is not required, but please wear what you feel comfortable in.

"After the celebration, there will be an 'after party' at Springfield Country Hotel Leisure Club & Spa in Wareham where a bar and food will be available."

Jude's family have asked anyone who is considering buying them gifts or flowers to instead donate the money to the Air Ambulances UK, a national organisation representing and supporting the UK's 21 air ambulance charities.

The charity is often needed for people injured in motocross and means a lot to the family, who set up a fundraiser shortly after Jude's death which has already raised more than £40,000. Donors are also able to leave tributes to the young motocross star on the page.

Mark said: "Rather than gifts or flowers, we would much prefer you to donate to the Air Ambulances UK fund."

Mark has asked those who are planning on attending to let him know on 07811197730.
