Reference the traffic lights by Asda/old fire station roundabout, I see in your copy (Dorset Echo 15 August), a crash reported, I’m quite sure I’m not the only person that is baffled why the traffic lights sequence is so confusing for drivers, especially drivers from out of town.

Approaching the lights from Westwey Road to turn right into Newstead Road, with the lights green, and being in a right filter lane, and seeing cars from Boot Hill stopped (the ones turning right) it’s so easy to fall into the trap it’s safe to turn right, and not realise a car approaching from Boot Hill may have a green light!

Surely the person who approved the junction layout, has to be held responsible, for potentially getting someone killed.
