I AM a 74-year-old woman and I own a sex toy!
I am writing this because I am fed up of reading the endless letters and comments in the Daily Echo by one author blaming the town's problems on a shop selling pleasurable bits of vibrating silicone.
My husband and I were happily married for 42 years before he passed away suddenly five years ago. We weren't that sexual but we did manage to have one delightful daughter.
After my husband's passing I often walked from my home in Westbourne through the Triangle on my way to our weekly ladies lunches at the Hilton and wondered what was in a sex shop after giggling to myself after seeing their often humorous windows. I brought the subject up at lunch and a friend suggested we all head up to the Triangle and take a look after a glass of wine.
What we were met with was not what we were expecting, the staff were hugely friendly and welcoming and educated us all on what the items for sale were for.
We all took the plunge and bought our first sex toy and lubricants.
For me it has created a happy bubble where a huge void was in my life.
I find these constant negative letters and comments in the Echo regarding The Triangle Sex Shop so out of touch with reality.
I am no sex addict but I admit I am old and own a sex toy.
