The intercepted vessel is now anchored off the coast of Weymouth.
Erin-Louise Cole, who lives a few roads from the Hamworthy base, described hearing the noise in the early hours of Sunday.

She said: "I was in bed, it was around half two and I heard it a little bit—then there were more.
"I thought it was a normal routine."
Due to living close to the Royal Marine base, she explained that it's common to hear them flying over when they're completing training practices.
However, she began to hear more and more helicopters flying over, which actually made her house shake.
She said: "The house actually shook."

Though she noticed some people online complaining about the noise, Erin-Louise said she would rather be disturbed and feel safe than face a real threat.
On Sunday, she managed to catch a video of one of the helicopters flying near her property and has praised the Royal Marines for their work on the earlier operation.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed that Royal Marines and law enforcement officers from the National Crime Agency boarded the vessel, named Smyrtos, during the early-morning operation.
The MoD said it was the first UK-led action of its kind and involved support from the Maritime Air Group, including Chinooks, Merlin Mk4, and Wildcat helicopters, as well as HMS Sutherland, HMS Ledbury and an RAF P-8 aircraft.

Sir Keir Starmer welcomed the success of the operation, calling it a 'blow' to Russia and its efforts to fund the war in Ukraine.
Commenting on the operation, Lloyd Hatton, MP for South Dorset, said: "I’d like to thank our brave Armed Forces for successfully intercepting this tanker in our waters earlier today.
"After a conversation with Ministers, I can confirm that the National Crime Agency will conduct a swift investigation on the tanker before determining immediate next steps."
Mr Hatton said the ship is under constant observation, and that 'there are no safety or environmental concerns'.
Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis paid tribute to the armed forces personnel involved in the operation, adding that incidents such as these require 'skill, professionalism and courage'.
Attorney General Lord Richard Hermer added: "Russia relies on their shadow fleet tankers to fund their conflict in Ukraine, and this expertly delivered interdiction strikes another blow at Putin’s war machine."
