Drivers are being warned of temporary road closures around Crossways and Moreton from tomorrow while fibre infrastructure is installed.
Dorset Council’s order, which comes into force on Monday, August 17, covers sections of Redbridge Road in Crossways and Winfrith Newburgh, as well as Old Weymouth Road in Moreton.
The affected routes are: Redbridge Road, Crossways, from the B3390 Warmwell Road junction to its junction with Old Weymouth Road, Moreton.
Redbridge Road, Winfrith Newburgh, from Old Weymouth Road southwards for around 750 metres.
Old Weymouth Road, Moreton, from Redbridge Road to a point 70 metres north of Sheepwalk.
Wessex Internet is carrying out the work, which is expected to be completed by August 28.
A locally signed diversion route will be provided while the closures are in force.
The traffic order can legally remain in place for up to 18 months, although the council anticipates the disruption will last less than two weeks.
Wessex Internet says its full-fibre network is installed using underground ducts or telegraph poles, depending on the location.
