This image of a little girl with a bucket and spade was taken on the banks of a very different looking Radipole Lake in Weymouth.

Pictured is Jackie Voller. The photograph was taken when Jackie was seven in 1967.

You can see the well known and much missed funfair Chipperfield in the background.

The fair was moved to the other side of the water to what is now the B&Q side.

Chipperfields was relocated when the new road was built.

Trains used to go across the bridge; it was the train track for Portland trains, now it is the Rodwell trail. The trail starts at Westham, which was the first station.

The train used to stop at the foot of Portland, but in Victorian times it used to climb Portland and it used to have 'the snailway' as its nickname.
