WEYMOUTH & Portland coach Anthony Cowburn says his side have high hopes of arresting their poor run of form when they host Salisbury Seconds in the Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts One South tomorrow.

Remarkably, it is the Seahorses’ last home match of the season, with their last three games all away from home.

The Seahorses are on a tough run, having lost three straight matches, but Cowburn is hopeful for improvement.

When asked if they have good hopes of arresting their tough run of form, Cowburn said: “We do yeah. It has been difficult because we haven’t had the same team out every single week. We just haven’t made the right decisions on the pitch and effectively it has cost us dearly.

“We think we have put to bed our on field issues and we are aiming to come back well against Salisbury, especially with it being our last home game of the season.”

The Seahorses face trips to Swanage, before visiting Wimborne Seconds and Bournemouth Thirds before the end of the season, and Cowburn admits it will be tough.

Cowburn said: “We have actually got a very hard run in until the end of the season, so really that makes Saturday’s game more important for us to get the win.

“We want to make up for the poor performance we had up at (Salisbury’s) ground and we want start our final four games on a high.

“We are not really pushing for bonus points at all at the moment, we just want to get back to winning ways especially after losing some winnable games.”

However, Cowburn says the morale of his squad remains high, having taken advantage of a week off last weekend.

Cowburn said: “Morale is quite high to be honest. We have had a week off where we did some fun-based team building skills and drills.

“This week we are back to training hard, Tuesday night was a really good session.”

Tim Comben is out, while Lewis Richards, Chris Norton and Rory Legg are also out for the Seahorses.
