DORCHESTER Town will begin their 2021/22 Pitching In Southern Premier South campaign on Saturday, August 14.

League officials have announced a provisional start date, subject to the FA Council's approval of the curtailment of the current campaign due to Covid-19.

The Magpies have seen two successive seasons cut short by the pandemic.

When league fixtures start, manager Robbie Herrera will lead the Magpies in his first full season in charge since taking over from former boss Leigh Robinson in November.

"Subject to (the) FA Council ratifying the FA Alliance Committee decision to ‘curtail’ the 2020/21 season when it meets on Thursday, the Board of the Pitching In Southern Football League has decided that the 2021/22 season will commence on Saturday, 14th August 2021 for all four divisions," a statement read.

Dorchester began this season on Saturday, September 19 with a 3-1 defeat to Weston-super-Mare.

The FA Cup extra preliminary round and preliminary round will sandwich the league opener.
