STAR Weymouth loanee Dom Revan has returned to Aston Villa for the remainder of the season.

Revan, 20, had not played for the Terras since an aerial collision in the 2-1 loss at Torquay United on Saturday, April 10.

Weymouth initially suspected concussion but scans at Villa Park have revealed a broken jaw, ending the promising defender’s spell at the Terras.

Revan played 17 times for Weymouth, recording five clean sheets and one second assist.
His place in the side for tomorrow’s trip to Maidenhead will likely be filled by new signing Ben Morgan.

Speaking to Echosport, boss Brian Stock explained Revan’s return to Villa.

He said: “We’ve unfortunately had to send Dom back, which is a massive miss for us.

“What a fantastic lad, he’s a massive loss.

“The one thing I look back on with Dom is that when he decided to join Weymouth we were languishing near the bottom of the table.

“I think we had nine points. It takes a lot of bravery for a player coming out of a Premier League club to join us and say: ‘I’m up for the fight’.

“That alone impressed me immensely. He can be a shy boy but what a fantastic character he is.

“He sent a real message amongst the squad and staff. We were very fortunate to have him.

“The fact he chose us over a few other clubs, I was really pleased. For him to choose us was a real milestone.

“It’s built that relationship up with Aston Villa, who are very pleased and are keen to maintain this relationship.”
