WEYMOUTH’S newly-built squad cannot afford to take time to gel, manager Brian Stock has warned.
In total, 10 of the 20 players signed by Stock this summer are new to the club.
And, in Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Boreham Wood on the opening day of the Vanarama National League season, eight of the 10 became debutants.
Echosport asked Stock if the new arrivals would take time to become a cohesive unit.
He said: “I don’t think so, no, because we can’t afford to take time.
“We need to pick up results and improve how we accumulate points at the start of the season.
“We need to learn quickly, learn from our mistakes and know what this league is all about.

“It’s a very good lesson for one or two individuals that have made their debut and not necessarily been exposed to this level of football.”
Weymouth continue their Vanarama National League campaign at Grimsby on Saturday (3pm).
