DORCHESTER Town have announced the signing of Brazilian centre-back Thiago Cazé da Silva.
Da Silva joins the club from Poole Town having signed at the Avenue Stadium ahead of training last night.
Prior to his spell with the Dolphins, Thiago spent time in Italy with Latina Calcio and also featured for Weymouth in a 12-game spell in 2018, scoring once.
Da Silva comes in for the Magpies with defensive injuries to Sam Davidson (ankle) and Ash Wells (hamstring).
Speaking on his newest signing, boss Robbie Herrera said: "Thiago will bring experience - he knows the league and knows this level.
"Hopefully he will communicate with the lads around him and be an influence on some of the younger players, and calm things down – although he’s got a bit of bite in him which, with no disrespect to the players that we’ve got, we haven’t got in abundance around the team so he will bring something different.”
Pending approval from the Southern League, da Silva could make his debut at home to Gosport tomorrow (3pm).
