INCLUDING friendlies, Weymouth are today bidding for their 100th victory against Yeovil since the Glovers' first incarnation in 1890.

There is of course more to the rivals' FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie than statistics, though.

Prize money of £9,375 is on offer to the winners, plus a place in the main draw.

For Weymouth, progress would end a 14-year wait to earn a tie in the first round proper, a feat last achieved in the 2007/08 season when the Terras eventually bowed out in the second round, losing 1-0 to Cambridge United.

Statisticians must retreat 34 years into the history books for the last FA Cup meeting between the West Country foes.

On that occasion, Yeovil took a 3-1 victory - also in the fourth qualifying round.

Weymouth's last win over Yeovil in the FA Cup came almost 48 years ago when the Terras defeated the Glovers 1-0 in a fourth qualifying round replay in November 1973. The initial tie was drawn 2-2 after extra time.

Weymouth hold the better record of the sides in FA Cup clashes, the Terras beating Yeovil five times and losing four times in 12 games.

Weymouth have scored in all four away FA Cup ties at Yeovil. There is also the prospect of a first competitive Weymouth win at Huish Park for 33 years.

It's Yeovil v Weymouth. Somerset v Dorset. Don't you just love the FA Cup?
