AN INFLUENTIAL performance from new signing Dani Ackerman guided Weymouth Women into the quarter-finals of the Dorset Women’s Cup.

The midfielder bagged herself a hat-trick and two assists as the Terras ran out 8-0 winners at Broadstone.

Ackerman opened the scoring on 16 minutes, curling home from the edge of the box.

Terras captain Charlie Wilson doubled their lead eight minutes later when she converted from the spot.

Naomi Johnson and Tasha Sibley added a further two just before half-time; Johnson slotting a one-on-one whilst Sibley headed in a corner.

Ackerman scored her second one minute into the second-half, and Johnson earned a brace of goals with a backheel in the 52nd minute.

Sibley made it seven on the hour; but the pick of the goals was Ackerman’s third, a 35-yard effort which flew into the top corner.

Weymouth await the quarter-final draw.

Elsewhere, Weymouth Women’s development side lost 4-1 to Dorchester Town Ladies.

Clare Bagwell netted a brace, while Kerry Bartlett and Charlie Pepper also scored as Caprice Locke-White grabbed a consolation for the Terras.
