DORCHESTER Town assistant boss James Wood admits fixtures “don’t get much harder” than Hayes & Yeading away.

The Magpies head to London tomorrow (3pm) to face a side chasing the Pitching In Southern League Premier South title, fresh from a 8-1 thrashing of Wimborne in midweek.

However, Dorchester’s performances have been excellent in their past two games and Glenn Howes’ men go into the clash full of confidence after a earning a late 1-1 draw with Truro on Tuesday.

Wood told Echosport: “They don’t get much harder than Hayes & Yeading away!

“Quite rightly, they were most people’s tip to win the league this year. They’re a very powerful side.

“Glenn watched them against Gosport and was very impressed.

“But we’ve got to go into it full of confidence with the performances of late and the hard work the boys are showing.

“We’ve got to back ourselves to give a good account and give them a good test, which I’m sure we will.”

“Hopefully we can catch them on an off day but our season this year is not going to be defined by Hayes & Yeading and we’re fully aware of that.”

Dorchester have just two injury absentees, with left-back Tiago Sa (ankle) expected to be out for a number of weeks.

Fellow defender Thiago Caze da Silva (knee) has returned to light training with physio Lauren Watts, but this fixture comes too soon for his comeback.
