DORCHESTER Town manager Glenn Howes admitted the Magpies’ triple injury blow at Hayes & Yeading was the “biggest disappointment” of the Dorset club’s afternoon.

Title-chasing Hayes won 3-0 on Saturday as Moses Emmanuel scored a penalty and Francis Amartey grabbed a goal in each half.

Dorchester lost Charlie Madden (groin) and Thiago Caze da Silva (knee) to reoccurrences of their injuries, while Billy Lowes is expected to recover from a knock to the femur.

Issuing an update on da Silva, Howes told Echosport: “I think there’s more inflammation there than he led on.

“He’s so keen to play. He trained well on Thursday and got the go-ahead to be involved. The player wanted to play, so you can only listen to the player.

“Unfortunately, it looks like he might’ve aggravated that area.

“Then we’ve lost Billy as well, which was an enforced change. He’s full of energy, Billy. He frustrates the opposition and he’s been really, really good for us.

“It’s a real blow to lose three players to injuries. That’s probably the biggest disappointment.

“Billy had quite a hefty challenge in the first half, which is a blow down to his femur. He’s got quite a bit of swelling there.

“He was just unable to shake it off and continue and lost a bit of mobility as the game went on.”

On Madden, Howes added: “Charlie pulled up with his groin as he did two or three weeks ago.

“It looks like it’s the same injury. Again, he’s got a little bit of swelling in that area, so he’ll have to be assessed.”
