WEYMOUTH chairman Ian White called for Terras fans to turn out in big numbers to play a “key part” in their bid for Vanarama National League survival.

David Oldfield’s side face four huge home games in April, with Grimsby on Saturday followed by Yeovil, Wrexham and Solihull contests.

Weymouth are currently nine points behind Aldershot in the final safe position, while the Terras lost further ground to King’s Lynn in midweek.

The 21st-placed Linnets defeated Bromley 1-0 on Tuesday to stretch their cushion over Weymouth to six points, having played two games more.

Assessing the table situation, White urged the fans to have their say as Weymouth look to stay in the division.

White told Echosport: “We haven’t had a home game for five weeks, which is not ideal.

“I was starting to do the programme for Grimsby and on the 5th of March when we last played at home, Aldershot had 31 points and Weymouth 22. Now, it’s exactly the same.

“The difference now is that King’s Lynn are sandwiched between the two. It’s a tall shout to beat Grimsby but stranger things have happened in football.

“The form that Aldershot are in, the form we’re in, it makes you think that nothing’s going to change.

“But until it’s mathematically impossible to stay up, we can’t give up. A key part of that would be to get as many people down to the Bob Lucas as possible for four massive games.”
