WEYMOUTH boss Bobby Wilkinson admitted to mixed emotions after the Terras drew 1-1 with Taunton Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Weymouth opened the scoring through Dan Roberts’ header but the Terras were pegged back in the second half as Dylan Morgan rounded home keeper Gerard Benfield for 1-1.

Weymouth hit the woodwork twice during the match, leaving Wilkinson to weigh up whether Weymouth had dropped two points or secured a precious draw.

Speaking to the Terras’ media team, he said: “A brilliant, entertaining game, really enjoyable.

“We had a brilliant first half, we had to take a second or third goal. They soaked up a lot of pressure, but that’s football.

“You’ve got to be clinical when you’re so on top. I have to say, I’m immensely proud of my boys.

“When they scored their goal, it swung momentum and looked like they were going to go on and win it.

“I made the tactical changes to put them on the back foot. I thought we were going to win it in the last 15 minutes. The boys put in another good shift.

“It’s two points dropped but then a great point at the same time.”

Weymouth welcomed 1,252 fans to the ground for the game and Wilkinson hoped they were suitably entertained.

He said: “They’ve gone home with an entertaining game because we played some slick football, quick, forward passing, movement, created a lot of chances.

“They gave us so much passion with 15 minutes to go.”

Wilkinson added: “When you come up against these physical sides, you’ve got to stand up and be counted.

“My two centre-halves handled them really well, so I’m really pleased.”

Weymouth travel to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday (3pm).
